[vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ shape_dividers=””][vc_column width=”1\/6″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Last Saturday, Houston’s concert series “Aperio: Music of the Americas,”<\/a> presented a concert of my music at the Asia Society Texas Center<\/a>. I’ve been working with Aperio for years now, and it was incredibly gratifying to hear them perform 4 of my pieces on the same concert. The concert, titled “Across Oceans,” took place at the new Asia Society Texas Center in Houston. The building is really remarkable, with beautiful open spaces, natural light filtering into almost every room, and water cascading from the second floor balcony.<\/p>\n

The performers did a fantastic job, and a composer couldn’t ask for more. Not only did they perform the concert, but each spent countless hours in the studio all week recording the pieces for a CD to be released in early 2014. Congratulations to soprano Tracy Rhodus<\/a>, pianist\/director Michael Zuraw<\/a>, pianists Kimi Kawashima<\/a> and Jason Hardink<\/a>, percussionist Craig Hauschildt<\/a>, violinist\u00a0Andr\u00e9s Gonzalez<\/a>, violist Suzanne LeFevre<\/a>, and cellist Patrick Moore<\/a>.<\/p>\n
